We both have never shot a compound bow before. We bought this one after researching and seeing that it's supposedly good for an adult and child. I was not disappointed. Both my son and I can easily shoot it at 10-20 yards and shoot effectively. If he and I are shooting I keep it a little light. It's still able to accurately hit 20 yards. If I want to go further I tighten it up with the Allen key that came along with it. The goal is to practice for a year or two and eventually move to hunting. I'll most likely upgrade to a different bow but he can easily keep this one and grow with it. I really don't see any downside to this bow and what we wanted it for. It was our intro bow to learn how to shoot properly and its that 100%. Huge value for money. Having the arrows come with it is huge. The only thing that I would say is needed is a target to shoot at. We bought a foam cube at Walmart. Is there a certain size or type?** A: Be careful ordering arrows from Amazon. I ordered some and took 3 months to get here. I used to buy one or two from Walmart. **Q: Does this bow actually shoot at 10 pounds, or do the arrows just drop in front of you?** A: That’s pretty low so I’d say not at 10 pounds. It comes set very nice and can bury an arrow at 10 and 15 yards with minimal effort. **Q: is this kid the Genesis pro bow** A: No. The description will say "Pro".
