It depends on how far the chisel is over the rest and how aggressive you are at hollowing. I have hollowed a 12" vase with no problem. **Q: Is this only for wood can it be used with acrylics wood resins** A: The Simple Shear Cutting Finisher tool included in this variation will be a great tool for resin projects. The cup shaped cutter has proven to perform well on both wood and acrylic/resin projects. The other flat top carbide cutters are for wood projects. **Q: do you have any negative rake carbide cutter replacement for epoxy resin?** A: We do make a cutter for the Simple Rougher tool that will work great on Resin. Also, the Simple Shear Cutting Finisher is our favorite tool for resin. Because you can rotate it and adjust how aggressive or light you want to cut, it makes cutting resin really fun. New tools for cutting resin are in the works right now. **Q: Can this fit on a Nova 1624 - 44 wood lathe?** A: Yes but it may be close quarters for some hollowing work.
