I hope this blade lasts as long as the two bases I have but they do seem to be on the fragile side. I might order a second just to make sure I have it as backup once this model becomes obsolete. If it is about the rubber ring that usually found in these type of blenders...the rubber ring is built in. **Q: The cutting assemby blades are hard to turn with my hand. Should they turn smoothly?** A: Yes the cutting blades should turn freely. If not it will burn out the drive motor. **Q: I just purchased the Cuisinart CPB-300, can you tell me what the difference in this blade and the one that comes with the blender is?** A: I'm not sure there is a difference. I bought it to replace the original blade when it quit spinning and was jamming. I still have my original machine, it has held up a long time, but I have had to replace a couple of the blade bases because they either quit spinning or broke. The Cuisinart website also sells parts, I recall that this one was a little less expensive. **Q: My husband forgot a spoon inside it crashed the cup and the blades are a little bit scratched like it had been eaten what should I buy to fix** A: I'd probably just get another one if the blades are damaged.
