I recognize that asking whether something is vegan or not is, in fact, the correct way to pose the question. All petty ego-jousting aside, I can't say for SURE that this ink is vegan because there once was an animal-derived ink, but I think it was used for dip pens and not fountain pens because it was probably fairly thick, but don't quote me. The fact is, though, that most water-based ink pigments are derived from minerals, some even from ash. I would think that if an ink were to be derived from say squid ink or something atypical (in other words not mineral-based) it would be a specialty, niche ink and it would probably be listed on the bottle for the "discerning" consumer. So I have a reasonably high confidence that these inks are vegan, but without knowing the ingredients for certain. I can't be 100%. **Q: Will this fit sheaffer fountain pens** A: No, sheaffer sells a proprietary converter that can be found on Amazon. Double check online to be sure your pen requires a modern sheaffer converter, older models may not accept the new version. This converter will fit any pen that takes an "international" converter, such as Nemosine, Jinhao, etc. **Q: Will this fit the parker jotter?** A: So long as it is the Parker Jotter fountain pen and not the rollerball or ballpoint. **Q: Does it fit into the barrel of the Kaweco Sport series?** A: Don’t really know, but knowing how short the barrel is on the Kaweco Sport series, I would stick with the Kaweco piston converter. It draws ink up like a syringe-cool. The Kaweco Sport series will take the universal cartridges that are smaller and fit most fountain pens. This piston converter maybe to long for the Kaweco. They are a great quality ink and I’ve had no problems with any of them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good name brand! *by S***N on December 8, 2025* Good quality item! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly good ink in a cool bottle. *by J***. on February 24, 2022* I got this ink when I got my Dryden Designs fountain pen at the beginning of December and I just got around to testing it out. I hadn't even opened it. I was testing out the two colors of ink cartridges the pen came and now I've used up on of each, I was able to try this out. It comes in a squat heavy glass bottle which is very stable and resists spilling. It has a silicone rubber stopper in the top so it absolutely can't spill when the lid is screwed on tight. It is a very nice looking bottle that looks good alongside my other more stylish bottles of ink. The ink itself is a nice black ink. It isn't quite as black as some of my other favorite black inks, but this is black enough for my uses. It is not a waterproof ink so it will run and smear if it gets wet and you won't want to use it for anything that requires permanence. It is a fairly fast drying ink. It does bleed through paper that my other inks don't bleed through, leaving some big spots on the other side. However it doesn't feather significantly with a more dry writing pen, but it does feather where pens put down a lot of ink. The ink is a bit more expensive than other fountain pen inks, but not quite as bad as the more expensive brands. You are paying for the custom bottle a bit, but the bottle is good and stable highly reducing the chances that you will knock it over, making it more worth it. Some of their colors are cheaper than others, I'm guessing because they aren't as popular and they are trying to reduce inventory on those. It is a nice ink but I think it could be a little lower in price. They also unfortunately have a very low color selection.
