They have stayed sharp and cut very well when widening holes. The coating on these is self-replenishing and so far that seems to be true as I've noticed no change to the color of the coating unlike titanium coated ones which quickly lose their coating. They also cut as fast as cobalt step drills I've used.Considering this is a 2 pack with a decent size range, for most people this set should cover all your step drill needs.
