How cleanly does it erase?** A: I would say less smudgey and not as dark as a #2 Pencil **Q: does this pencil need to be sharpened and if yes, how?** A: I believe it can be sharpened to a finer point. I have to say that I don't use mine very much. It takes a great deal of pressure to write with it. I thought it would be great, but it's much easier to use a mechanical pencil. **Q: Is this pencil "permanent" like the other products you guys sell?** A: i purchased this item - it doesn't write on paper peoducts - it looks like a weak charcoal stain vs a legible writing instrument - just my take on this product ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but inovative *by O***Y on Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2015* It's a little rough on paper but it does write. It's graphite impregnated rubber - so it sharpens and works like a normal 'full graphite' pencil but because it's rubber based it has more friction on the paper. It does, however, not require sharpening as frequently. This can be a blessing or a curse - as it dulls it has more paper friction. One thing I can assure you, is you'll never break the end off like normal graphite pencils. I personally recommend you get a different color eraser other than black - as it makes finding which end to write with (glancing out of the corner of your eye) harder to determine. All in all, I think this is a good improvement over the pencil for an every day carry situation but I don't feel it has enough benefits to replace ordinary pencils altogether. It's also very expensive for what you get. I paid $12.95 when I purchased.Note - I was not given this item to review - it was purchased with my hard earned money. I never tell anyone how to spend their money, but I wouldn't recommend this product unless you have disposable income to dispose of or the need of a very sturdy pencil.
