The disposal is supposed to be wired to a "light switch" that turns it on and off. In my case, it's wired to a plug under the sink that is controlled by a light switch next to the sink. **Q: How’s the Noise level?** A: It is as loud as any cheaper model I've ever bought. I don't know why its so loud but trust me, it is LOUD. **Q: what if you dont have a garbage disposal-what do you need to install this** A: The disposal comes with all you need to install it with. It's just if you are replacing this one with another, you won't need all the parts. **Q: I’m replacing an older disposal. The current one doesn’t have a on/off switch, it’s operated by the cover that has a magnet. What do I need to install** A: Hi Carol, thanks for reaching out! If you’ll replace a batch feed type disposer that is activated by the magnetic Cover Start switch, the current model is the Evolution Cover Control Plus.
