I used electrical tape to wrap the turn buckles and the threads to be sure I don't get any rattling, that works great. the lock itself fits into the bracket nice and snug and with the tape, It never made a peep for the two days in a row that I was in the boat at various levels of speed and idle.After reading some of the negative reviews of locks rusting shut, I sprayed lithium grease into the locking openings and sprayed liquid wrench dry silicone all over the outside of the lock to prevent it from freezing up. I had that problem with a basspro motor lock years ago and had almost destroyed my motor bracket trying to get the thing off, so now I know I need to maintain this lock every so often to keep from doing that with this newer motor. The boat sits alone for days at a time until I return to it and this is a way to keep honest people honest.The reason I have had a few of these is because somehow I always seem to lose the key and have to cut the bar off with a grinder. I used this on a 2019 15hp Suzuki 4 stroke and it fit well.
