It comes with some fasteners to make it lay flat - I only needed to use them in a couple of places. The fit was pretty much exact and there's no curling or bulges - it lays about as flat as a piece of carpet on your dashboard can. Not the most attractive option, but it beat painting the dash and I've pretty much forgotten that its there. The only thing I've found is that it reduces the sensitivity of the headlight sensor so that my lights come on earlier in the evening.
