A: Mine is a V8 and they fit perfectly, no difference from the original ones.

**Q: Does the pre-motor filter (the long one) stay in place securely? A filter from another company falls out easily.**
A: yes the long filter stays in securely as good as the Dyson

**Q: How often do ichange both filters in v8 absolute**
A: I have been changing every 5 - 6 months which feels excessive but otherwise the vacuum suffers from suction issues even.

**Q: Do I need conversation kit?**
A: No.  Straight swap for originals.  Suggest you obtain 2 sets (4 filters in total),  resulting in absolutely no down time.  1 clean pair replaces the dirty pair, which can be washed at your leisure and then changed when the first pair need cleaning.
