Review: Texture additive - Unfortunately we didn’t get to use this product this time but we have use numerous times in the past and it has worked well. It’s great for hiding small imperfections in drywall ceilings, which is what I’ve used it for. Good product.
Review: Clean, uniform sand for textured paint - I had a project where I had to "repair" a section of wall that had been painted with a textured finish. I was just going to get a bag of beach sand and use that, but then learned you need to "wash" the sand to get dirt and dust out of it before you add it to paint. This Roll-A-Tex sand from Zinsser was just the ticket. I mixed just a little at a time, mainly by guessing, with some white enamel. Then I used a brush to apply it. You don't use brush strokes, though. You dab it on, and use the bristle ends to make spikes of paint/sand. It worked great. I was able to match several areas where the texture had been damaged. After I repainted the room with the final color, you couldn't see where the repairs were! This is a great product for the purpose I used it for. It may be too expensive to use it for an entire room, but that depends upon how much you use. They may have larger containers, too. But it worked great for me, and I'm very happy with it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it work well mixing with flexseal to add to the bottom of my vehicle? Do you have a picture of the finished product?**
A: I am not sure as it is for the wall but I would guess it would, as it can be mixed with any paint. I don't have any pictures on this phone but you can Google fine stucco look.

**Q: Can this additive withstand outdoor weather (rain, freezing temperatures, etc.) assuming I use an exterior paint?**
A: That is correct. The paint would need to be exterior paint and be able to withstand the elements.

**Q: Do you use a textured roller or a regular roller to apply?**
A: You can use a regular roller or brush as long as the surface has a light sand finish.  If it’s a heavy textured or popcorn surface this is not the right stuff to use.  I found this product to work very well for “patch painting“ my sanded ceiling.  Plan on throwing out the roller sleeve after using as it is almost impossible to get all the sand out. Good luck!

**Q: Will this separate from paint and how hard is it to mix with paint?**
A: To the best of my knowledge, the Rust-Oleum will not separate from the paint. It is very easy to mix, you just stir it in and it leaves the paint the same color.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not my style

Purchased to use in 1 gal of paint in my daughter's room. The product itself is easy to mix. There's no room in the can for it, so you need a separate mixing set up. Def use a paint mixer. Makes it easier on you, but you can totally do it by hand. The paint becomes thick. If paint sits for a while in between coats, like next day as mine did, mix it again. I felt like the grains settled down. I used a thicker nap roller so not sure how a foam roller would perform. Paint was easy to apply and covered well. The texture rough. I did 2 coats. I had splatter that I don't normally have with plain paint, probably because of the longer nap and thicker consistency. I wasn't able to clear the room before painting so I was working around furniture. I would def cover the floors and any furniture that is close to where you're painting. My daughter loves it, but it's not my style or choice of texture.
