I put it on my motorcycle tank and only time will tell if it shakes or vibrates itself loose and falls off. I am not worried about the round sticky place mat. That should be Ok. The problem with vibration or shaking mighty loosen the suction cup but until there is a problem I'll chance it. I did put a retaining cord on the suction cup unit (it has a convenient loop) so if worse comes to worse, it'll just be dangling but not lost. The ball fits into the Garmin snugly. I like the arm extension feature. All in all, for the price, It's a good buy. Recommended. Now, my windshield is clear of clutter. This mount works on windshield also, bit the reason I bought it was to clear my view. This is a great piece of equipment. The only drawback I have seen so far, is that it shakes pretty good when you're traveling over uneven roadways or damaged roadways. But as long as I get video, I can deal with a little shake.
