That particular one is not used for threaded parts. But this one can and should be used for threaded parts. **Q: Should I get this for applying to my aluminum seat post?** A: You could apply this lube to whatever you want, but for seat posts, handlebars and stems the recommended material is a carbon/alloy compound or paste such as Park Tool SuperGrip Carbon and Alloy Assembly Compound part #SAC-2. This paste helps create a tighter grip between two slippery surfaces (seat posts), carbon or aluminum. And also helps to eliminate squeaking in these areas.Having 100-200+ lbs. on a bike seat/post plus the road vibrations, bumps, potholes, curbs, etc. puts a lot of downward pressure on the seat post causing constant re-tightening adjustments. The paste was made to eliminate this slippage and constant seat post readjustments. **Q: Will this work for coil bike shocks?** A: Should not be a problem. **Q: Is this used for bike wheel bearings** A: Yes.
