I have a rather powerful woman as a user, and a previous monolytic version of this unit ended up broken. It as a miracle that the VGA connector in the monitor was not broken as well. Having this cable joining the two connectors is an easy way to relieve rotation stresses. It works very well, and your monitor should allow for color adjustment if colors are not true. Image is faithful and without "ghost" shadows in it. The cable also makes for a much shorter unit, which helps to angle the two connectors as needed, so it can fit on monitors whose VGA port is in the lower side of the monitor AND pointing down, like mine. This unit definitely solved the problem of stress in the connector. Review: It works for me - I'm using a repurposed flatscreen TV as a monitor -- the HDMI never worked and it had a VGA port on it. When the computer's video card died and was replaced all the new one had was HDMI; I don't think they make VGA cards anymore.
