When I got this set they seemed too lightweight and tinny for surgical steel. They felt cheap. I decided to try them anyway thinking maybe they were just thinner than what I was used to. I started to get itchy wearing them and I didn’t use them to stretch my left ear just my right that I had to take out for a while due to infection (all cleared up with antibiotics) I’ve had mine stretched for 20 years with no issues otherwise. Both ears got itchy and red. Def NOT 316L. If you don’t have an allergy then this is a great set to stretch up if needed but why lie about the material.
