The instructor demonstrates a few postures that those with osteopenia or osteoperosis definitely should not do. Each section of the tape begins with careful instruction about the various movements including some modifications should you need them. It's likely the best available option other than in-person instruction with an equally qualified instructor. That's followed by the instructor and one or more long-term students going thru the sequence that you can skip to once you've got the movements down. Different sections concentrate on mat exercises, counter/barre exercises, ones using the ankle band, ones using the long stretchy band, & a 'bone dance' (also with the ankle band) that would only be appropriate for advanced users with very good balance and stamina. Some excercises can be done seated. There are also special sections addressing posture, foot exercise with the half-tennis balls, a rise-and-shine sequence, etc. The instructor is a physical therapist and a former dancer. Just watching her gorgeous posture and graceful movement is a joy and inspiration. The DVD has great bone strengthening exercises, although the instructor sometimes almost lulls you to sleep. I almost didn't order the balls/exercise bands because I felt like they were overpriced, but when I started doing the exercises I was really glad that I had them all at hand instead of having to run all over town looking for just the right thing.
