It's Cheap - what did you expect

For those that complain about the quality of this frame what did you expect for such an inexpensive frame. The one I purchased was a return and the reason the previous buyer returned it was due to it being all bent on the down tubes and hanger. If you have the tools and time not that big of a deal. In regards to the welds I took it to a welder I know, he said it was not the cleanest but adequate. This is a frame that does not have a replaceable hanger so when it is packaged with the hanger at the bottom of the box it is going to get bent. I fault CFG for that more than amazon. It would be better if they shipped the frame upside down. The bottom bracket should be chased, but not necessary, the paint job was adequate. I had some road parts that I wanted to use, found this frame for a steal and built a good cross bike. Not super light, final build weight around 32 lbs. The only other issue I found with the listing is that the frame sizes from CFG are little off. I got the 54cm but seems bigger, but not so big that it is an issue.

I need therapy after gazing on this monstrosity!

*by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2014*

I hoped against hope that this would suffice as a cheap entry level frame for a cyclocross experiment. Alas, it was not to be so. As I unwrapped the frame I tried to get my son to look away because once the poor quality of the welds alone became clear, I feared his face would melt (a la Nazis in Raiders of the Lost Arc) due to being exposed to such horrendous work! Cracks in the paint along welds that indicated poor, ready to fail junctions. I couldn't get a rear wheel into place due to bent and misaligned tubes and rear dropouts. Did I say dropouts? These things gave Walmart frames a good name! Stay away! Run! Don't even try it! Not even warrantied, so far as i could tell so no recourse once it fails. I ended up getting the Performance entry level frame and fork and couldn't be happier... built up fine and is made to last.

You get what you pay for...

*by S***U on Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2014*

I'm using this frame to build a cheap commuter bike so I didn't expect much for $77. It feels solid and the paint looks OK but there's a bare metal patch behind the seat tube. The major pain I had was that when the fabricator drilled into the bottom bracket to weld on the chainstays, they drilled right through the threads and left some major burrs. To fix it, I had to get the bottom bracket re-tapped (REI did it for $13).
