It's not. It's a composite material that appears to be of plastic or similar with birch veneer pieces glued to the surface. That's the only complaint I have. I figured this was the case but I wanted to see for myself. So if you are looking for an actual wooden frame, this is not it. If you don't care what the frame material is and just care about the wood "look", then this will suffice. Structure is made well enough and it's serviceable for what I need.
