I did that and they appear to be type 6. **Q: does this string work well with the yoyofactory fast 2.0.1?** A: Very pleased. (He's 13 and a pretty advanced yo-yo-er.) He likes that it lasts longer than the cotton string. He still has to cut about a foot off each one, so I assume they are precut for an adult. And the green color always impresses his friends since theirs are all just the plain white. Also, I like it because it doesn't get dirty and turn gray/brown like the white used to do, which really grossed me out.
