Koshtex is a brand that specializes in arts crafts and sewing. They sell products for crafts, sewing and quilting such as threads, needles, books, magazines and more. Kosh was born in Ukraine in 1873 and she started a small candy making business in 1893. In 1898 she had the idea to start a dressmaking business where she would make clothes for other women as well. In 1916 her son Arthur became involved with the company as well and he continued the pattern business until his death in 1955. In 1966, Kosh's granddaughter, Francesca Kosh, assumed full ownership of the company while her husband, Stanley Kosh, managed the business. Today the name has been changed to Koshtex Incorporated but the patterns are still being produced under the same name. The company has grown to include over 30 different patterns and 18 different fabrics which are all still sold at many stores across the United States.
